HappyScrappers is cancelled this Saturday. Only three people RSVPed in the affirmative.
Also, please pray for Brian's grandmother. Her name is Thelma Carlson. Put her on any prayer chain that you have at your church. She is in City Hospital with extensive blood clots in both of her lungs. For those of you that come to HappyScrappers, Thelma is Carolyn's mother and Shannon and Brian's grandmother.

Tuesday Tunes 1
This scrapbook page was inspired by the lyrics to the song, "I'll Fly Away." It is my favorite hymn. This 8x8 page is going in my faith book.
The lyrics are:
I’ll Fly Away
Some glad morning when this life is o'er,
I'll fly away;
To a home on God's celestial shore,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).
[Chorus]
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).
When the shadows of this life have gone,I'll fly away;
Like a bird from prison bars has flown,I'll fly away
(I'll fly away)
[Chorus]
Just a few more weary days and then,
I'll fly away;
To a land where joy shall never end,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away)
[Chorus]

Missions Monday
Sorry for the very blurry picture.
I hope to send this card to a missionary in Haiti. Our church supports a missionary in Haiti who has made the following requests for prayer:
Pray against demonic activity and witchcraft in Haiti, pray for an ample food supply to allow the missionaries to fulfill their commitment to feed the hungry, and pray for spirtual growth in the gospel preaching churches in Haiti.
Card Supplies: Stampin' Up Cardstock and Ink, Riveting Stamp Set (SU), Ranger Stickles, Misc. DP Scraps, Corner Rounder, Circle Punch

Sweet Friends Card
Using only cardstock that I had in my scrap basket, and the inspiration from SplitCoastStampers Limited Supply Challenge, I whipped up this card this morning before I went to church. I used an Apricot stamp from my Strawberry Shortcake stamp set. Other supplies include: Dew drops, Cuttlebug Folder, SU markers, pop dots, alphabet stamps, circle punch, ric rac, and a Scenic Route rub-on.
Homesick
Jami and I trying to "look like we have some sense" as my mother put it.
Jami and I looking like "we don't have any sense" - again my mother's words.
One of my favorite photos of all time - my brother, Tim and My Aunt Irene, smiling.
My mother and I
Me with Dad

Me with Dad
I've been feeling really homesick lately. I miss my mom, dad, brother, and sister. These are some photos I took at Christmas time and the week of Grandma's passing, my two most recent trips home. I've found myself looking at these photos a lot and I hope to order prints of them today so I can make some sentimental scrapbook pages.

Faith Card
For this card, I didn't use any rubber stamps (gasp!). Instead, I used a Creative Memories vellum quote. I'm not a huge CM fan, but I do love their vellum because it's very high quality, yet affordable. They have a packet of faith based quotes that I purchased for cardmaking and scrapbooking. The vellum quote says, "Without faith, nothing is possible. With it, nothing is impossible. " How true, how true. All of the cardstock and the ink I used around the edges is Stampin Up! I cuttlebugged the white piece. The ribbon and felt flowers are from Offray. I also used Stickles and Dew Drops.
I've Seen the Light
I've come to a realization lately. I need to take a little break from some facets of my life that have been draining me dry. I've been burning the candle at both ends, two hundred ways to Sunday, and I'm tired.
Really tired.
So, I hope to be doing a whole lot more of what fills me up and makes me happy. That means I'll be spending more time with Brian (the love of my life), hanging out with my Christian Sisters (that speak the truth proudly and without apologies), planning for my students, scrapbooking, making cards, and shopping. I'm going to take in a few good Lifetime movies, too.
Life will be grand again......
God is good, all of the time. All of the time, God is good.

My First Dew Drops Card
Happy Friday! I hadn't made a card in a while and was inspired to sit down and make one today. The inspiration for my card was the designer paper lying in my scrap basket. The stamp is from the retired "Happy Harmony" Stampin Up set. The cardstock and ink are also SU! The flower is a Bazill Wing, and the ribbon is Offray. Two of the Dew Drops are from the Lily Pad bottle and two are from the Sunflower bottle. I also used a PaperShapers punch. I'm not sure I like the corners of the card. I thought about putting Dew drops in each corner but I thought that might be too much. I'm still debating.
I hope to do some of the Splitcoast Challenges and the new Stamp Something challenge this weekend. If it doesn't rain in the morning, I hope to hit some yard sales, too. So, keep your eyes peeled. My blog is bound to see some new stuff this weekend.

Happy Mail
My friend Claire (and fellow Strawberry Shortcake Collector and papercrafter) sent me a package of HappyMail on Friday. It was so nice to come home to a big envelope filled with awesome goodies. There are papers from the DCWV Baby Nursery Stack (including STRAWBERRIES!), boxes, flowers, leaves, tags, and other fabulousness from K&Company, and alphabet stickers. I love it all. Thanks so much, Claire!

What I Take On Vacation
I've been wanting to post this picture for a while. This is a shot I took right before we started loading the truck for our last road trip. These are all of the cardmaking supplies that I took to Lancaster with us. I can't leave home without them. Besides, what else would I do in the hotel room while Brian is watching hunting shows on the Outdoor Channel?
