Sweet Birthday Card

I made this card using the sketch over at Carol's Sketch Fun. This was a fun sketch that I will use again. I printed out the sketch and put it in my sketch book to refer back to later. Thanks for the great sketch, Carol!

By the way, I plan to hit the yard sales this week and weekend, so keep your eyes peeled for a new Yard Sale Report!

Whimsical is the Word

While making this card, I was in a whimsical mood. I was also in the mood to use up some supplies that I've had forever, like these brads. The result, was this card for the challenge over at 2 Red Bananas this week. It's whimsical and cute... just like the special friend that I made it for! :)

Season of Friendship

I had two general inspirations for this card. First, I was inspired by the wonderful 2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday Challenge. The challenge was to create a card inspired by a summertime photograph. I found inspiration in the summer season, the azure blue color, and the simplicity of the photo.
Secondly, I was inspired by the gratitude that I feel for the wonderful friends that I have in my life. So many friends... real, true friends stopped me in church this morning to ask me how Grandma Thelma was doing this morning. Another friend brought me a bag of clothes because she knows I've been working so hard at my weight loss goals and that buying new clothing before you reach your goal is expensive. Another friend sent me an ecouraging card about my weight loss yesterday. I'm so blessed to have so many great friends and I truly believe the sentiment on this card.... "The Season of Friendship Lasts Forever."
It was difficult to photograph this card - especially the glittery little blue bird in the tree.
Thank you for stopping by my blog. I'd love to read your comments. Also, it would make my day if you'd choose to "follow" my blog. See my sidebar for info.

Love and a Hug,
All of the materials used in this card were Stampin' Up, except for the Ranger Stickles.

Giving, and Giving, and Giving

This was the Father's Day card I made for Brian's Dad. I didn't have time to take a picture of the one that I made for my dad, which I actually think turned out better. Anyhoo - I think this turned out quite nice.

A Congratulations Moose

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I love the Stampin' Up Set, "Moose You." I have used it for so many cards and for so many occasions. This is a "congratulations" card for my cousin who recently graduated. He likes the outdoors, so I thought it was fitting. This is one of the cards I made when I visited my sweet friend (and Soul Sistah), Veronica. She let me use her Top Note Die and I fell in love with it. It is something that I am going to put on my stampin' wish list. The ribbon was a $1.00 find at the Crafts 2000 store in Parkersburg, WV.

Do Not Be Afraid....

This is a card for someone who recently suffered a house fire. I've been there, and done that, so I know that there really aren't the "right words" to say, but it's very comforting when people take the time to extend their thoughts of concern. Since the card is for a man, I tried to use masculine colors and patterned paper. Hence, I thought the hemp twine was more fitting than ribbon. The sketch was inspired by the Challenge # 119 over at Card Positioning Systems. I really like long cards because you have so much more room to work with verses a standard sized card. Thanks for stopping by my blog. (I'll be posting recent Garage Sale Hauls soon!)

Supplies: Black Cardstock and Patterned Paper: DCWV, Vellum Verse: Creative Memories, Hemp Twine: Stampin' Up!, Buttons: Making Memories, Pop Dots; Dollar Tree, Black Diamond Stickles; Ranger, Vellum Glue Dots and Glue Lines.

A Berry Nice Day!

I recycled this image from a card front that a fellow Strawberry Shortcake collector sent me. I had a berry nice day today. I went to several yard sales, and I'll have pictures to post of my yard sale finds posted some time before Monday. Since school is out, I'm going to have a lot more time to make cards, scrapbook, enter challenges, and so on. I know that my blog has been super neglected for a long time, but that is going to change this month. So, please keep checking back and PLEASE leave a comment. You comments let me know that someone is reading this thing. LOL

Fall Birthday Card

Keeping it clean and simple, I mass produced six cards like this one today. My card stash was running low on birthday themed cards. I used a small pumpkin stamp from an oldie but goodie Stampin' Up set called Tag Time. I also used a sentiment stamp from the SU Birthday Whimsy set. I'd been hoarding the ribbon for ages and was happy to use it up. I hope you like the card and thanks so much for stopping by my blog!

Happy Labor Day and God Bless You and Your Families ~

Monochromatic Challenge

I find the Stamp Something Challenge Blog very inspiring. The challenges give you direction, but are VERY user friendly and doable. Check them out! I made this bright and happy "Sweet" card for the http://stampchallenges.blogspot.com/ Monchromatic Card Challenge. It's very simple, but I love the way it turned out. I find myself reaching for yellow Stickles quite a bit lately. I've also noticed that my Stampin' Up scallop punch is worth it's weight in gold. I use it all of the time!
Supplies: SU! Yo Yo Yellow Cardstock and Ink Pad,Basic Black Ink Pad, Scallop Punch, Circle Punch, So Very Stamp Set, Tart and Tangy Stamp Set. Ranger Stickles (yellow), old paper from scrap basket.
